SAVI EHS – Sterling, VA (On-Site | Data Center Construction)

Compensation: $45.00 – $50.00 per hour

Per Diem: $1,000 per week (for qualified travelers)

Position Overview

SAVI EHS is seeking a highly experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager with 7+ years of construction safety experience to lead safety operations on a large-scale data center construction project in Sterling, Virginia. This role requires a senior-level safety professional with proven field leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage safety compliance across multiple contractors and high-risk scopes of work.

The EHS Manager will serve as the on-site safety authority, working closely with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and SAVI EHS leadership to ensure OSHA compliance, mitigate risk, and maintain a proactive, zero-incident safety culture in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily on-site safety operations, including inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring for high-risk construction activities.
  • Oversee and enforce contractor safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct site safety orientations, toolbox talks, and targeted training to reinforce safety expectations and best practices.
  • Facilitate Daily Hazard Analysis (DHA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and pre-task planning meetings.
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide safety oversight for cranes and critical lifts, steel erection, confined space entry, energized work, hot work, and other high-risk operations.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
  • Partner with project leadership to promote accountability, coaching, and a strong “Zero Incident” safety culture.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of EHS experience in construction, with demonstrated leadership or management responsibility.
  • BCSP Certification required (CHST, STSC, CSP, or ASP).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926, hazard analysis, and construction risk mitigation.
  • Experience supporting data center, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects strongly .
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence all levels of project personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety management/reporting systems.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510, OSHA 500, or equivalent advanced training .
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field .
