EPMS System Engineer

Summary
Centric Energy Systems is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) team. As an EPMS System Engineer, you will help design, implement, and support monitoring systems for mission-critical data centers. This role focuses on electrical design, system integration, and troubleshooting, with opportunities to expand into SCADA, networking, and software integration as you grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret site electrical drawings (single-line diagrams, plan views, schematics).
  • Verify electrical equipment designs and confirm fit-for-purpose from manufacturer submittals.
  • Design and document system models for EPMS deployments.
  • Work with client and vendor teams to ensure design completeness and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical power data and system communication issues.
  • Assist in building, commissioning, testing, and validating EPMS installations.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, development history, manuals, specifications).
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technicians to deliver projects successfully.
  • Travel to client sites for system deployment, testing, and support (up to 20%).

Core Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (with strong power systems experience).
  • Entry level to 3 years experience
  • Working knowledge of 3-phase power systems and commercial electrical equipment (switchboards, UPS, generators, breakers, transfer switches).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and in teams.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S., able to travel domestically/internationally
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Beneficial Skills (training in position)

  • Familiarity with SCADA systems (Aveva System Platform, Aveva Plant SCADA).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP, MQTT).
  • Experience with Ethernet networking and serial communication
  • Experience with SQL or other database products.
  • Exposure to PLC programming, scripting, or graphic design for system modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server/VMware environments.
  • Strong skills with MS Excel and Word
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools.
