About the Role:
The Executive Director of Sales partners closely with COO and leadership team to create a sales strategy that aligns with ComNet’s strategic plan and revenue target. This role is required to lead, hire and motivate a high performing sales team.
Duties include:
- Lead and execute the business development initiatives
- Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends the company's and regional reach
- Provide sales solutions and guidance to all levels of sales team
- Partner with Executive Directors to provide solutions to current sales and project challenges
- Set sales team’s goals and objectives while monitoring their performance
- Identify knowledge gaps within the team and create development plans to increase productivity
- Ensure that company quotas are met by conducting frequent check-ins with sales team to set objectives and monitor progress
- Research consumer needs and identify how our solutions satisfy those needs
- Prepare budgets and approve expenditures
- Achieve company objectives through planning, goal setting, and analyzing performance and market data
- Support company forecasting by tracking industry trends
- Manage relationships with manufacturers and product partners
- Develop skills continuously for hiring, training, and leading team members, and ensure that they're using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
- Meet with reps on a consistent basis to review performance, progress, and targets
- Participate in spontaneous sales call rides and planned field days
- Plan and implement training programs to create a progressive sales environment
- Track sales performance and analyzing sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Skills required:
- 10 plus years’ experience managing a sales team
- 8 plus years overseeing a salesforce selling multiple, complimentary verticals
- 5 plus years’ experience in commercial construction, low voltage, AV or security
- Ability to identify, train and motivate sales team
- Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from forecasting target identification and territory management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Superb leadership ability
- Ability to travel minimum 20%
- Successful experience directing new account executives in a cold territory
- Skilled at building rapport, opening doors, and understanding business requirements of senior decision makers
- CRM proficiency
