Location: Owings Mills, MD - 100% Onsite (5 days/week)
Hours: Standard M-F 8-5; 24/7 on-call every third week.
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 month w2 contract
Compensation Range: $55-80/h w2

Job Description:
Fortune 500 financial services client seeking Network Engineer with F5 Load Balancer expertise. Large enterprise data center environment with F5 BIG-IP infrastructure. Immediate need for F5 LTM specialist to support critical load balancing operations, installations, upgrades, and infrastructure migrations. Supportive team environment with mentorship opportunities.

Day to day:

  • F5 BIG-IP Load Balancer administration and configuration

  • Create and manage VIPs, virtual servers, pools, nodes, and pool members

  • Configure and troubleshoot F5 profiles, iRules, and monitors

  • SSL offloading configuration and certificate management

  • F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager) implementation and support

  • F5 installations, upgrades, and hardware migrations (i-series to r-series)

  • Cisco networking infrastructure support (routers, switches, IOS configuration)

  • Network troubleshooting using packet capture and TCP/IP analysis

  • Change management and maintenance window execution

  • On-call support rotation (24/7 coverage every third week)

  • Documentation of F5 configurations and network diagrams

Must Have requirements:

  • 5 years experience

  • F5 Load Balancer hands-on experience (BIG-IP platform)

  • F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager) configuration experience

  • VIP creation, pool configuration, and profile management

  • iRules scripting and troubleshooting

  • SSL offloading and certificate management on F5

  • F5 installation, upgrade, and migration experience

  • Solid Cisco networking experience

  • Foundational network troubleshooting skills

  • TCP/IP protocol knowledge and packet analysis

  • Network packet capture and flow analysis

  • Enterprise networking experience

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice to have (not required):

  • F5 Certified IP Administrator (F-CIP) certification

  • F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) certification

  • F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) certification

  • F5 i-series to r-series migration experience

  • F5 Access Policy Manager (APM) experience

  • CCNA or CCNP certification

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional

  • Financial services or banking industry experience

  • Large enterprise environment (Fortune 500)

  • F5 GTM (Global Traffic Manager) knowledge

  • Network automation experience

  • Data center operations experience
