Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician in a 12 month contract in the Nort-West of London.

\n

You will work as part of a team responsible for maintaining mission-critical equipment including liquid cooling, power distribution systems, generators, and UPS systems.

\n

This role operates on a shift rotation supporting 24/7 data center operations.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems

\n

• Conduct routine plant inspections and equipment checks to ensure systems are operating correctly

\n

• Monitor alarms and system performance using Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools

\n

• Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting across infrastructure systems including power distribution and cooling equipment

\n

• Support operation and testing of critical systems including liquid cooling systems and cooling equipment, diesel generators, UPS systems, and switchgear.

\n

• Supervise specialist vendors performing maintenance or repair activities on site

\n

• Follow permit-to-work and safety procedures for all maintenance and operational activities

\n

• Participate in incident response and support troubleshooting during infrastructure events

\n

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and operational logs

\n

• Support testing activities including generator tests and infrastructure failover exercises

\n

A Typical Day may include:

\n

• Performing daily plant inspections across mechanical and electrical infrastructure

\n

• Monitoring alarms and system status through the Building Management System (BMS)

\n

• Responding to infrastructure alerts and assisting with initial troubleshooting

\n

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks on site equipment

\n

• Supporting generator tests and infrastructure system checks

\n

• Supervising vendors performing maintenance activities

\n

• Completing shift logs, plant status reports and operational handovers

\n

\n

Basic Qualifications

\n

• Experience working with mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems

\n

• Hands-on experience performing maintenance, inspections or troubleshooting on plant equipment

\n

• Knowledge of infrastructure systems such as:

\n

o Liquid cooling systems – Primary area of expertise sought, followed by other cooling and mechanical systems.

\n

o HVAC / cooling systems

\n

o pumps, motors or industrial equipment

\n

o power distribution equipment

\n

o generators

\n

o UPS systems

\n

• Ability to follow operational procedures and safety standards

\n

• Willingness to work in a shift-based environment supporting 24/7 operations

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

• Mechanical and electrical qualification (hands on apprenticeship, diploma or equivalent experience)

\n

• Experience working in data centres, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants or critical environments

\n

• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) or similar monitoring systems

\n

• Experience working with permit-to-work or safety management systems

\n

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

\n
