Critical Facilities Technician – Data Center

• Northern, VA
• Up to $45/hr (DOE) + OT + Shift Differential
• 12-hour shifts (Rotating initially with access to shift after training period)

Overview

We are seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to support operations within a mission-critical data center environment. This role is responsible for maintaining uptime and reliability of electrical and mechanical infrastructure including power distribution, cooling systems, and backup .

This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with experience in data centers, industrial maintenance, or commercial facilities engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, and power distribution equipment
• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems (CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers)
• Monitor and respond to alarms through BMS/EPMS systems
• Execute work in accordance with MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime
• Conduct routine inspections, rounds, and equipment readings

Qualifications

• Experience in a data center, critical facilities, industrial maintenance, or commercial building environment
• Strong knowledge & experience in hands on maintenance of electrical systems (3-phase power, switchgear, generators) and/or mechanical systems (HVAC, chilled water systems)
• Familiarity with BMS/EPMS or similar monitoring systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and one-lines
• Comfortable working in a 24/7 shift environment
