Job Description
Are you ready to take the next steps in your career and lead a team of highly skilled engineers in the semiconductor industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Field Application Engineer at IMS Nanofabrication's Santa Clara, CA location. At IMS Nanofabrication, we are embarking on a journey to bolster our service capabilities in the USA. As a Field Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in becoming a member of a team of highly motivated engineers and ensuring a seamless interface with our local customers and our headquarters in Vienna. Your contributions as part of the engineering team will shape the future success of IMS USA.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st level application support by operating advanced nano-lithography mask making equipment, monitoring and optimizing the performance, including analysing data in order to offer solutions - both independently and as aligned with the team.
- Evaluate electron optics, making corresponding adjustments on the tool and documenting the results.
- Tune and monitor all relevant tool corrections.
- Resolve known problems and support solutions to new problems related to tool write performance. · Support preparation and re-qualification before and after PMs including tool operation.
- Identify issues and align actions to resolve them through documentation, escalation, and drive the path forward for resolution in cooperation with the local team.
- Prepare standard jobdecks, e.g. for tool health checks, drift tuning, pre-APM assessment and other purposes.
- Execute standard tasks, standard log and data gathering, standard tool operation, tool updates, standard tool health checks (in-situ optical checks, drift).
- Consult and support the teams in Vienna in evaluation of tool performance.
- Document the results of regular checks, processes and problem cases and form an important communication interface to the second level support.
- Communicate and meet with the customer’s managers and tool owners regarding tool issues and pass-down.
- Support the customer when new functions and methods are introduced.
- Participate in training.
Qualifications
- Higher technical or scientific degree (e.g. physics, chemistry, electrical engineering)
- Experience in semiconductor industry
- Lithography experience beneficial
- Technical communication skills
- Problem solving capabilities
- Python or other coding experience
- Linux experience beneficial
