Field Engineer / Electrician\n\nType: Long-term rolling contract\n\nLocation: Northeast\n\nDaily rate: £300-£350 per day, paid weekly in arrears\n\nAbout The Role:\n\nWe are currently seeking experienced Field Engineers in the Bristol / London / North East areas to support critical infrastructure projects across high-profile data centre and telecommunications environments. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical background and proven experience working within live data centres and exchange environments.\n\nYou’ll play a key role in delivering infrastructure installations, power works, and network hardware deployments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Rack installation and deployment activities\n\n * Infrastructure installation including cable tray, conduit, and containment systems\n\n * DC power installation up to 95mm CSA cable, including use of appropriate tooling\n\n * Minor AC installation works including commando sockets\n\n * Router and server installation within live environments\n\n * Cat6 and fibre installation activities\n\n * Basic router and switch commissioning\n\n * Conducting power surveys to assess load and capacity requirements\n\n * Supporting transmission testing activities where required (BERT, RFC, Y.1564 desirable)\n\n * Working within operational data centre and telecoms environments while adhering to strict safety procedures\n\nEssential Experience & Skills\n\n * Strong background working within data centres and critical environments\n\n * Previous experience within VMO2 Data Centres and BT Exchanges highly desirable\n\n * Good understanding of DC power systems and structured cabling\n\n * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project delivery team\n\n * Strong awareness of health & safety and electrical compliance standards\n\nRequired Certifications\n\n * Gold Card standard electrical qualifications\n\n * Level 3 Test & Inspect qualification\n\n * TEL001 DC Electrical Safety\n\n * Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)\n\n * Manual Handling\n\n * Ladder Safety\n\n * Asbestos Awareness\n\n * BPSS eligibility (to be processed upon successful acceptance)\n\nDesirable Experience\n\n * Transmission testing experience including BERT, RFC, and Y.1564\n\n * Previous work within telecoms exchange environments\n\n * Experience supporting critical network infrastructure deployments
