We are actively seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Field Network Deployment Technician for the final phase of a large-scale Aruba Switch deployment project. This role is dedicated to the physical installation, basic configuration, and foundational troubleshooting of network hardware across several healthcare facilities in the Northern Virginia area.

The successful candidate will serve as a crucial "bolt-turner" on-site, ensuring all deployments strictly adhere to established engineering blueprints and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

• On-site Deployment & Physical Installation: Perform physical installation ("rack and stack") of Aruba switches in hospital data centers, closets, and Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs).

• Configuration & Maintenance: Execute Layer 1 (physical cabling, verification) and Layer 2 (basic switch configuration, port configuration) tasks following detailed engineering instructions.

• Blueprint & SOP Compliance (Core Focus): Precisely interpret and flawlessly follow architecture drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all deployments. This role is strictly execution; no network design is required.

• Change Control: Process, execute, and document work completion via the formal change ticketing system.

• Troubleshooting: Conduct foundational, on-site troubleshooting for physical (Layer 1) and basic connectivity (Layer 2) issues.

• Travel: Daily travel is required between 5 primary hospital sites located within the Fairfax, VA area (including Arlington, Loudoun, and Fairfax counties, extending up to 30–40 miles). Mileage compensation will be provided.

Must-Have Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must clearly demonstrate the following:

1. Hands-on Field Deployment ExperienceProven, hands-on, on-site experience with the physical deployment, racking, stacking, and hardware installation of network equipment (i.e., "bolt-turner" experience).

2. Aruba Switching ExperienceDirect experience deploying and managing Aruba switches.

3. Layer 1 & Layer 2 SkillsProficiency in executing installation and configuration tasks related to Layer 1 (cabling, port validation) and foundational Layer 2 (basic switch config) network concepts.

4. Blueprint & SOP ComplianceThe ability to read, understand, and strictly follow complex architectural drawings, installation guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

5. Change Control ExecutionExperience with formal IT processes, specifically executing work based on approved Change Tickets/Requests.

6. Daily Travel & TransportationMust have reliable transportation and the ability to travel daily to multiple hospital sites (up to 30-40 miles daily) within the Fairfax, Arlington, and Loudoun County areas.

Desired Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Prior experience in a large-scale, enterprise network deployment project.
• Experience with other network hardware (routers, wireless access points) is a plus.
• Network certifications (e.g., Aruba Certified Switching Associate - ACSA, CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus, but not required for this role.
