Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Data Center Service Technician with hands-on experience supporting Power Distribution Unit (PDU) systems in data center environments. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability of low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment that supports critical server infrastructure.This is a regional, field-based position supporting multiple data centers within a defined geographic area. The ideal candidate understands the urgency, protocols, and operational nuances of data center environments and is comfortable working independently in high-priority situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PDU systems and associated low- to medium-voltage electrical equipment
- Respond to critical service calls in an on-call capacity, ensuring rapid resolution of power-related issues
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) checks on PDU systems and supporting infrastructure
- Monitor and verify proper electrical load distribution to prevent overload conditions
- Collaborate with data center personnel to ensure safe and compliant system operation
- Document service activities, findings, and corrective actions
- Maintain adherence to all safety standards and data center protocols
Travel & Work Structure
- Regional travel required (typically within a 3-hour radius)
- Travel time is fully compensated (from departure from home to return)
- Use of personal vehicle required (all tools provided on-site)
- Company credit card provided for fuel and work-related meals
On-Call & Scheduling
- This is an on-call position, requiring availability for urgent service needs
- Technicians may schedule PTO and blackout dates (e.g., weddings, personal events) in advance
- When not on active calls, technicians will focus on preventive maintenance and system monitoring
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with PDU systems (Power Distribution Units)
- Prior experience working in data center environments (strongly )
- Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in time-sensitive situations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
Compensation & Benefits
