As a Field Service Technician / UPS Technician, every day brings something different: troubleshooting high-tech UPS systems, supporting installations, and building lasting customer relationships.
Field Service Technician / UPS Technician – Your Job Duties:
You will travel throughout Northern California working on UPS systems for various customers.
- Perform preventive maintenance, start-ups, repairs, and upgrades on UPS systems, batteries, and related power equipment for clients located in Texas
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues to ensure optimal system performance and uptime.
- Conduct site assessments, testing, and technical evaluations to verify system reliability and compliance.
- Support installation, de-installation, and modification projects at customer sites.
- Remove, replace, and commission failed or aging batteries and components.
- Complete accurate Field Service Reports, expense reports, and maintain clear service documentation.
Field Service Technician / UPS Technician - Required Skills, Qualifications & Prior Experience
You have:
- Hands-on experience servicing UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, including preventive maintenance, battery replacements, and system testing.
- Comfortable using tools of the trade — multimeters, amp clamps, Fluke battery testers, and other diagnostic and hand tools.
- Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems, battery technologies, and power management principles.
- Physical ability to lift batteries weighing up to 100 pounds and work safely in various field environments, on your feet and in various conditions
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel within your assigned territory throughout Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area
- Experience in facility building and data center service (desired, not required)
Field Service Technician / UPS Technician – For You
Your compensation will be $95,000-$105,000 annual salary, depending on your experience
You will be provided with medical insurance options including employer contribution towards your premium, paid time off, paid holidays and more.
You will work a standard Monday-Friday schedule. On rare occasion, you may be called for an emergency dispatch (additional emergency dispatch pay provided should this occur.)
