As the Financial Analyst you will support our finance and contract management functions. In this role, you will be responsible for managing revenue recognition, analyzing contract terms, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, and supporting the overall revenue cycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of contract structures, revenue reporting, and financial analysis, with a particular emphasis on the energy or sustainability industry.

You will collaborate with internal teams, including legal, finance, sales, and operations, to ensure that contract terms are accurately reflected in our revenue recognition processes. Your analytical insights will drive critical decisions that help optimize revenue and contract management strategies.

Education and Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or accounting (energy sector experience preferred).
  • Experience working with ERP or CRM systems, such as Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling, pivot tables, etc.); experience with financial systems and BI tools a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CPA a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements:Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Recognition & Analysis: Review and analyze contracts to determine revenue impacts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Contract Review & Compliance: Review and analyze contracts for financial implications, ensuring compliance with company policies, financial reporting standards, and legal requirements. Identify risks and areas for improvement in revenue reconciliation.
  • Revenue Lifecycle Management: Oversee the lifecycle of contract revenue from inception to renewal or termination. Track and maintain key contract revenue details, including terms, fees, and milestones.
  • Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports as needed, tracking against targets and identifying variances.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Provide data-driven insights related to contract performance and revenue trends using financial forecasts. Identify opportunities to enhance profitability through revenue reconciliation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, legal, operations, finance teams and external business contacts to ensure alignment between contract terms and business objectives. Provide insights into how contract terms impact revenue recognition and long-term financial performance.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve revenue and contract management processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implement new tools and best practices to optimize contract and revenue management workflows.
  • Financial Analysis: Develop, maintain, and analyze financial models to support forecasting and budgeting. Conduct ad-hoc analysis to evaluate profitability, pricing, cost drivers, and business opportunities. Support leadership in evaluating business performance, identifying trends, and monitoring key metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of energy procurement, energy efficiency projects, or sustainability services is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to review and interpret complex contracts.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor while performing various administrative duties effectively and efficiently. ??

  • Proven ability to develop financial reports, revenue forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Revenue Management System and Customer Relationship Management.

The good faith salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 per year, and the final offer will be based on a candidate’s experience, education, and qualifications.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United States. While we welcome applicants from across the country, preference will be given to those located in or near the Eastern Time Zone, due to team and client collaboration needs.
