Base pay: $100,000–$160,000 annualized, depending on relevant experience.
Employment: Direct W-2 employment for a project assignment lasting up to 12 months.
Expected assignment: Start date October , 2026
Schedule: Expected 30-40 hours per week, dynamic construction schedule

Koala Design & Build LLC is hiring an experienced Fire Alarm Superintendent to lead field installation for a large industrial construction project in Phoenix. We are interviewing immediately and seeking the earliest practical start date.

This position suits a superintendent or experienced general foreman who has led multiple fire alarm crews and can manage manpower, installation sequencing, quality, inspections, and turnover. Arizona candidates and candidates willing to travel or relocate from California are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and assignment details

Base compensation is separate from any agreed housing, travel, or relocation assistance. Arrangements for candidates coming from outside the Phoenix area will be discussed during the initial interview and documented before acceptance.

This is a project assignment of up to 12 months. Employer-sponsored health insurance and a 401(k) plan are not currently offered. Actual earnings depend on the agreed compensation terms and length of employment.

Your role

You will lead daily fire alarm field operations, working directly with company ownership and project management. An Assistant Superintendent / Field Coordinator with electrical field experience will support daily coordination under your direction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan manpower, assign crews, supervise foremen, and maintain short-term installation schedules.
  • Coordinate materials, access, equipment, and work sequencing with project management and other trades.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and approved submittals; identify conflicts and communicate field questions.
  • Maintain installation quality, safe work practices, production reporting, and accurate redlines.
  • Coordinate with the GC, inspectors, system vendors, and commissioning personnel.
  • Lead readiness for pretesting, inspections, acceptance testing, punch work, and turnover.
  • Support hiring and development of field personnel as project manpower increases.

Required experience

  • Seven or more years of relevant commercial or industrial field experience, including substantial hands-on fire alarm installation.
  • Three or more years leading multiple crews as a superintendent, general foreman, senior foreman, or comparable field leader.
  • Experience with fire alarm raceways, cabling, devices, terminations, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and coordinate work using applicable NFPA 72 and NEC requirements.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for manpower, installation progress, quality, and inspection readiness.
  • Ability to work on site in Phoenix throughout the assignment.

experience

Semiconductor, manufacturing, data center, healthcare, or other complex facilities; NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or higher; OSHA 30; and experience coordinating system vendors through testing and turnover.
