Nexus Consortium is forming the 2027 founding cohorts of its Leadership Councils and is inviting accomplished leaders to help shape capacity for systemic risk, frontier technology and resilience.
\n
\n
The mandate is clear: identify emerging risks earlier, understand how technologies and systems are changing, strengthen institutional readiness, and turn intelligence into better decisions and practical action.
\n
\n
We are seeking leaders who can bring judgment, expertise, relationships and institutional perspective to consequential priorities across countries and sectors. AI, geopolitical change, climate, infrastructure, cyber risk, energy, water, health, finance and supply chains are no longer separate leadership issues. They increasingly interact, amplify one another and create decisions that exceed the boundaries of any single institution.

The Leadership Council is designed for that environment.
\n
It provides a year-round leadership platform connected to a wider global system of expertise, evidence, technology, technical assistance and risk finance.
The platform\n
Nexus Consortium is a federated public-interest architecture built around three connected areas:
\n

- RISK MANAGEMENT: Systemic risk, resilience, preparedness, critical infrastructure, climate, water, energy, food, health, biodiversity, supply chains and institutional readiness.
- RISK TECHNOLOGY, DATA & SYSTEMS: AI, GeoAI, data, models, digital infrastructure, sovereign compute, cyber, sensing, simulation, evidence systems and frontier technologies.
- RISK FINANCE: Finance and insurance readiness, protection gaps, public and private capital, risk transfer and the translation of resilience priorities into finance-ready pathways.

The Consortium brings together three independent institutions:
\n
\n
- \n
- The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI), Canada: GCRI leads the Leadership Council, Global Leadership Programme and wider leadership system. Its work spans systemic-risk intelligence, science, evidence, technical assistance, frontier technology and resilience infrastructure. GCRI holds UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, participates in World Bank and IMF civil-society channels, is a Santiago Network Member Organization, and works through Working Groups and field relationships spanning 120+ countries.
- The Global Risks Forum (GRF), Switzerland: Focused on governance, leadership development, foresight, institutional learning, international dialogue and Nexus Universe.
- The Global Risks Alliance (GRA), United States: Focused on finance and insurance readiness, protection-gap intelligence and risk-to-capital translation.
- Together, they support a federated model of networks and technical assistance, connecting priorities and local knowledge with international expertise, technology, evidence and finance while keeping decision-making authority with the institutions and communities that legitimately hold it.

Who we are looking for\n
We are looking beyond titles.
\n
We are seeking leaders whose judgment, experience, expertise, relationships or institutional position can materially advance important work.
\n
\n
Strong candidates will typically bring:

• a demonstrated record of leadership, expertise or institution-building
\n
• recognized capability in a relevant strategic field
\n
• independent judgment and high standards of integrity
\n
• the ability to work across sectors, disciplines and institutions
\n
• strong , sectoral or international relationships
\n
• a practical commitment to evidence, execution and measurable progress
\n
• one consequential priority they want to advance in 2027
\n
• the capacity to participate in the Programme's shared-cost model, personally, through their institution, or through an eligible sponsor
\n
\n
The shared-cost model is a core part of participation. It enables the year-round intelligence, programme team, technical capabilities, expert network, mission support and Nexus Universe infrastructure available to Council members.
\n
\n
Selection is based on credibility, contribution, strategic fit and readiness to participate fully in the Programme.
\n
What Founding Members gain\n

Your 2027 Strategic Leadership Agenda\n
Each Founding Member enters the Council with one consequential strategic priority.
\n
That priority becomes the basis of an individual annual leadership plan:
\n
• Priority: What needs to move forward?
\n
• Risk: What could change or prevent the outcome?
\n
• Intelligence: What does the leader need to understand earlier?
\n
• Technology: What should be assessed, tested or applied?
\n
• People: Which experts, institutions and stakeholders need to be involved?
\n
• Finance: What resilience, protection or capital questions need to be addressed?
\n
• Action: What should be tested, demonstrated or decided during 2027?
\n
• Continuation: What capability, decision asset or initiative should remain after the annual cycle?
\n
Nexus helps organize the intelligence, expertise, technical capabilities and relationships around that agenda.
A pathway to greater responsibility\n
The first year establishes a substantive contribution record.
\n
Members in good standing may subsequently be considered for Council leadership, committees, strategic missions, and regional initiatives, Nexus Universe responsibilities and other significant roles across the Consortium.
\n
Eligible members may also enter future Board candidate processes within GCRI, GRF or GRA where appropriate.
\n
Board and other formal appointments are separately governed. They are never automatic or purchased.

Candidates selected for the 2027 cohort will receive a formal Founding Member invitation package, including the Programme materials, participation framework and secure link to process their Programme cost share.

Council activation follows completion of the cost-share process.
\n
\n
Once activated, each Founding Member will enter formal onboarding and a Leadership Fit & Strategic Agenda Conversation to establish their 2027 agenda, contribution plan and Council pathway.
