General Manager - Construction

Our client that specializes in large-scale industrial and manufacturing construction projects is seeking a General Manager, Construction to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership across a growing portfolio of industrial construction projects, ensuring successful delivery while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across project teams. You will oversee execution across a portfolio of projects within automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, electronics manufacturing, and data center environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive leadership and direction to project executives managing design-build and EPC work across multiple locations.
  • Partner with design, procurement, engineering, and preconstruction teams to support successful project execution from planning through completion.
  • Establish and promote construction standards and best practices aligned with company objectives.
  • Oversee safety, quality, cost, and schedule across all active projects to ensure client requirements and company expectations are met.
  • Review and approve project plans, budgets, resource allocations, and subcontractor selections.
  • Lead and mentor Project Executives and field leaders while driving accountability, leadership growth, and performance through metrics and reporting.
  • Support business development efforts and represent the organization in executive-level client meetings and joint venture discussions.
  • Drive strategic initiatives focused on construction technology adoption, safety improvements, and continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in industrial construction, including senior leadership responsibility for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale industrial or manufacturing facility construction projects.
  • Experience in design-build or EPC construction projects involving multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field is .
  • Ability to lead and coordinate project executives, project managers, and field teams across geographically dispersed construction sites.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, contract management, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction project management platforms .
