About The Role:
Reporting to a Production Supervisor this role requires our General Operators to perform their daily work tasks effectively and efficiently to the highest level of Quality / EHS standards meeting specified targets and reporting all issues as required by the company. Full training will be provided to all employees to allow them to progress through their time with CEL.
What You'll Be Doing:
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow the Company’s Quality Control, Environmental, Health and Safety Procedures.
- Assist in building switchgear panels using schematic, mechanical and general assembly drawings:
- Carry out preparatory work on switchgear components e.g. cable stripping / label printing.
- Assist with the mechanical assembly of switchgear frames.
- Complete the assembly of mechanical components e.g. copper assembly.
- Complete the assembly of electrical sub-assemblies e.g. wire harnesses and panel plates etc.
- Assembly and installation of panel door assemblies.
- Support the wrapping and preparation of finished products for shipment.
- Lift, carry, and move materials and components (up to 50 lbs.) safely and efficiently
- Perform tasks that require standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Be required to help in other departments as required daily.
- Maintain area housekeeping standards to ensure a consistent and audit ready state.
- Ensure waste materials are stored in a safe and efficient manner prior to collection.
- Any other duties within any associated department as requested by your Production Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Have strong EHS and housekeeping awareness.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as a team player.
- Well-organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task.
- Previous experience using hand tools.
- Good aptitude for mechanical assembly.
- Comfortable working in a physically active role, including standing, bending, and lifting.
- Have a willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
