Head of Business Development UK | Data Centres & Critical Power\n£80,000–£90,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits\nHybrid | UK Travel\n\nA UK-based power business, backed by an established international manufacturing group, is entering its next phase of growth.\n\nWith expanded UK engineering infrastructure and strengthened technical capability, the focus is now clear: scale high-value, complex power projects across data centres, large standby and grid-connected schemes.\n\nTo do that properly, the business requires a senior commercial leader to take ownership of front-end business development.\n\nWhy This Role Exists\n\nSenior leadership is currently heavily involved in early-stage selling. The next step is to appoint someone who can:\n\n• Take full ownership of front-end commercial engagement\n• Identify and shape technically credible, commercially viable projects\n• Protect margin through disciplined qualification\n• Build a structured, repeatable pipeline\n• Operate confidently at senior stakeholder level\n\nThis is about selecting the right opportunities and shaping them correctly before they reach delivery.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will lead front-end business development across:\n\n• Data centre power solutions\n• Large standby generator installations\n• Grid-connected and capacity market projects\n• Complex 2–20MW schemes\n\nYou will build relationships with end users, consultants, EPC contractors and infrastructure partners.\n\nYou will work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure solutions are scoped correctly before contract award.\n\nYou will determine the appropriate route to market on a project-by-project basis and remain commercially visible throughout the lifecycle.\n\nDelivery ownership sits with dedicated project teams. Your focus remains on front-end commercial leadership.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n• Senior business development experience within power , critical power or adjacent infrastructure\n• Exposure to data centre environments\n• Experience contributing to delivered, complex, project-led solutions\n• Strong commercial judgement and opportunity qualification discipline\n• Technical credibility at stakeholder level\n• Confidence operating autonomously within an evolving structure\n\nYou must be able to evidence your personal contribution to projects from early engagement through to contract award.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nThis is a visible, strategic role within a business that has:\n\n• Established UK presence\n• Direct access to global manufacturing scale\n• Strong engineering infrastructure\n• Proven multi-MW delivery capability\n\nThe platform is in place.
