Job Purpose and Opportunity
The organisation is entering a period of significant growth, driven by increased demand for distributed infrastructure, technology evolution, and portfolio expansion. Substantial investment is being made in data centre capacity, resilience, efficiency, and sustainability.
This is a strategically important leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of major data centre investment and transformation programmes. Acting as a bridge between Technology, Operations, and Commercial functions, the Head of Data Centre Programme Delivery ensures that strategic design intent is translated into operationally ready, safe, and sustainable outcomes.
The role requires strong experience in leading complex infrastructure programmes, ideally within data centres, critical systems, utilities, or similarly regulated environments. You will bring strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate design, delivery, and operations to achieve defined business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Provide oversight and direction for major data centre development and transformation programmes across multiple regions and sites.
Structure the capital investment roadmap into a coherent, risk-managed portfolio of programmes and projects with clear governance and objectives.
Lead end-to-end programme execution, ensuring alignment between design standards, commercial priorities, and operational readiness.
Integrate multiple delivery streams, including construction, engineering, technology upgrades, client migrations, and operational enablement.
Engage early in design processes to ensure operational input on buildability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance.
Translate technical standards and design intent into executable delivery plans.
Establish feedback loops from live programmes to drive continuous improvement in standards and delivery approaches.
Ensure all programmes deliver fully operational environments with appropriate documentation, testing, and training.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, resilience, and sustainability requirements throughout delivery and handover.
Implement consistent programme governance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective control.
Maintain portfolio-level visibility of risk, dependencies, and resource demand.
Provide clear, concise reporting to senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.
Manage programme budgets, forecasts, and cost performance, ensuring value for money and adherence to procurement standards.
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of programme and project professionals, fostering a culture of ownership and delivery excellence.
Act as the primary point of accountability between Operations, Technology, Commercial teams, and external delivery partners.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Relevant professional development or academic qualifications in programme management, engineering, health and safety, or budget management.
Recognised project or programme management qualification (e.g. MSP, APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence.
Experience
Proven experience leading complex, multi-site capital programmes in critical infrastructure environments (ideally data centres).
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external delivery partners.
Strong background in governance, assurance, and compliance for safety, quality, and sustainability.
Experience working closely with design and commercial stakeholders to align delivery with business priorities.
