H&S Advisor

Salary £60,000–£70,000 DOE + Package

My client is seeking a hands-on, site-focused Health & Safety professional with proven experience delivering H&S leadership on mega-scale construction projects. Suitable backgrounds include industrial, infrastructure, high-tech, data centres, manufacturing, or major commercial builds.

Candidates must demonstrate capability within complex, multi-contractor environments; however, gigafactory-specific experience is not essential. The successful individual will be embedded on site, working closely with supervisors, package leads, subcontractors, and the wider delivery team to ensure safe, compliant, and well-coordinated execution of works.

Technical Core Requirements

  • Large-scale M&E installation experience across multiple subcontractors
  • Strong competence managing MEWP operations, rescue plans, working at height controls, lifting operations, hot works, and confined spaces
  • Solid understanding of civils and structural interfaces
  • Confident operating under strict governance frameworks, including PTW systems, isolations, and controlled zones

RAMS, PTW & Governance Expectations

  • Ability to review, challenge, and improve RAMS quality, ensuring task-specific controls, isolations, and rescue plans are robust
  • Active involvement in Permit-to-Work systems
  • Delivery of toolbox talks, behavioural safety engagements, and prompt close-out of actions

Key Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement)
  • CSCS Managers Card
  • NVQ Level 6 or NEBOSH Diploma (advantageous)
  • Temporary Works awareness beneficial

Desirable Experience

  • Experience on major industrial, data centre, manufacturing, or high-tech projects
  • Exposure to commissioning, energisation, and live-service interfaces
  • Coordination of large M&E packages across multiple subcontractors
  • Experience working in controlled or restricted environments
  • Temporary works interface across civils, structural, and M&E phases
  • Planning and oversight of high-risk activities (MEWP rescue, lifting operations, hot works, confined spaces)
  • Participation in client audits and principal contractor inspections
  • Strong behavioural safety influence within multi-contractor environments
  • Ability to collaborate with design, commissioning, QA, and senior leadership teams
