A leading Principal Contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental performance across large-scale, technically complex data centre projects. This role will be site-based and will play a key part in ensuring compliance, driving best practice, and embedding a strong safety culture across multi-disciplinary project teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n-\tTake full responsibility for Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management across assigned data centre sites\n\n-\tAct on behalf of the Principal Contractor under CDM 2015, supporting the delivery team in meeting statutory duties\n\n-\tDevelop, implement, and continuously improve H&S policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans\n\n-\tLead site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across all trades and subcontractors\n\n-\tReview, challenge, and approve subcontractor RAMS, permits to work, and method statements\n\n-\tLead investigations into incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, ensuring corrective actions are implemented\n\n-\tDeliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing H&S training\n\n-\tLiaise directly with clients, designers, subcontractors, and enforcing authorities\n\n-\tMonitor KPIs, produce H&S reports, and contribute to project and board-level reviews\n\n-\tPromote behavioural safety and a proactive, positive safety culture on site\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n-\tProven experience working as a Health & Safety Manager for a Principal Contractor\n\n-\tDemonstrable experience delivering data centre projects (critical requirement)\n\n-\tIn-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and UK health & safety legislation\n\n-\tNEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)\n\n-\tExperience managing H&S across complex, multi-trade construction environments\n\n-\tStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills\n\n-\tAbility to operate autonomously on large, live construction sites\n\nDesirable\n\n-\tNEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma\n\n-\tIOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH / CMIOSH)\n\n-\tBackground in major projects, critical environments, or M&E-heavy schemes\n\n-\tExperience working on high-value or mission-critical developments\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\n-\tCompetitive salary and benefits package\n\n-\tCar allowance or travel support\n\n-\tLong-term, high-profile data centre pipeline\n\n-\tCareer progression within a growing principal contracting business\n\nO’Neill and Brennan values and promotes equality, All individuals will be treated in a fair and equal manner and in accordance with the law regardless of , marital status, , , , , disability or
