We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated HR Generalist to join our growing team. This person will play a key role supporting all aspects of human resources operations with a strong focus on employee benefits administration, 401(k) management, billing, onboarding, and compliance reporting. Working closely with the Sr. HR Generalist, this role ensures accurate and timely onboarding of employees into benefits and retirement programs, manages benefit and 401(k) billing and reconciliations, and supports compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The HR Generalist also performs a variety of HR administrative functions, including maintaining employee records, managing HRIS data, assisting with employee relations, coordinating payroll updates, and supporting HR projects to ensure efficiency and compliance across all HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration & Operations

  • Prepare HR-related correspondence, employment verification, and documentation as needed.
  • Maintain and update employee information in HRIS and personnel files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support payroll coordination, verifying timekeeping records, benefit deductions, and other employee data.
  • Generate regular HR reports and metrics to support leadership decisions.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with safety, training, and employment recordkeeping requirements.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, maintaining forms, and assisting with employee communications.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Support employee relations activities by assisting with communications, employee feedback, and workplace initiatives
  • Help coordinate employee engagement events, training sessions, and recognition programs.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture.

 

Benefits & 401(k) Administration

  • Partner with the Sr. HR Generalist to administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, , and 401(k) retirement plans.
  • Manage the onboarding of employees into benefits and 401(k) programs, ensuring accurate enrollment, eligibility tracking, and timely communication of options.
  • Process and reconcile benefit and 401(k) billing, verifying employee deductions and coordinating payments with vendors and payroll.
  • Handle benefit-related reclamations, adjustments, and reimbursements with carriers and plan providers.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employee benefit inquiries and provide clear guidance on enrollment, plan changes, and coverage.
  • Maintain accurate benefits and 401(k) data in HRIS and ensure timely updates and reporting.

Onboarding & Employee Support

  • Conduct and coordinate new hire onboarding, including benefits and enrollment.
  • Ensure new employees understand benefit options, eligibility, and enrollment deadlines.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for HR-related questions, providing guidance on benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with offboarding processes, ensuring all employee records, benefits, and access are updated accordingly.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Work with the Sr. HR Generalist to ensure compliance with federal and state employment and benefits regulations, including ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
  • Prepare and assist with compliance reporting, audits, and required filings related to benefits and 401(k) plans.
  • Maintain confidential and organized employee and benefits documentation in accordance with company and legal standards.
  • Support the development and enforcement of company HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of HR experience, with a strong background in benefits administration, billing, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of benefits programs, 401(k) administration, and applicable employment laws.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Excel, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

 

Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Experience with benefits and payroll administration software.
  • Knowledge of multi-state employment and benefits regulations.
