Why This Job

Be the first and only in-house HR person at a 40-person manufacturer with ~10 open roles to fill. You'll own recruiting and HR end to end — no committee, no layers, no waiting on a corporate COE. Direct access to the owners, real autonomy, and the chance to build the HR function rather than inherit someone else's.

We build high-security data destruction equipment — industrial shredders, disintegrators, and degaussers — used by hyperscale data centers, ITAD providers, and enterprise customers in 52 countries. Operations in South Florida, Northern Virginia, and Sweden. Eighteen years in business and growing.

What You'll Do

Recruiting (roughly 70% for the first several months)

  • Own full-cycle recruiting across engineering, production, quality, service, warehouse, and finance roles in Florida and Virginia
  • Source actively through ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and direct outreach — this is a hunting role, not a post-and-pray role
  • Screen, schedule, and move candidates through to offer, partnering with hiring managers on requirements up front
  • Stand up and run our ATS (we're selecting one now — you'll have a say)
  • Keep pipeline status accurate and reportable to leadership
  • Use AI tools to work faster — we run Claude across the company and expect you to use it

HR Operations (grows to roughly half the role)

  • Be the person employees know and go to, across both the Miramar floor and our Virginia site
  • Own onboarding end to end, including I-9 verification on day one, every time
  • Administer Paychex: new hires, changes, terminations, benefits enrollment, open enrollment
  • Partner with managers on performance conversations, coaching, and documentation
  • Handle employee relations with discretion and sound judgment
  • Maintain personnel files and federal/Florida compliance
  • Support retention, engagement, and offboarding

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years in an HR generalist and/or full-cycle recruiting role
  • Demonstrated experience carrying multiple open requisitions at once
  • Hands-on sourcing experience — job boards, Boolean search, direct outreach
  • Working knowledge of I-9/E-Verify, FLSA, and federal/Florida employment compliance
  • Hands-on HRIS or PEO administration experience
  • Able to work on-site in Miramar, Monday through Friday
  • Responsive and direct — you answer emails, you follow through, nobody has to chase you

Strongly

  • Manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or field-services environment
  • Experience as the sole or primary HR person at a small company
  • Recruiting for technical or skilled trades roles (engineers, technicians, assemblers, QC)
  • Paychex
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
