IT Infrastructure Operations Analyst (2nd Shift)

Location: Onsite

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

*Looking for 1–2 years of systems monitoring and data center experience

Overview

Hive+ Co has a contract opportunity with our Columbus, Ohio client for an Operations Analyst to join their Technology division. This role supports the monitoring, stability, and operational health of the organization's data center infrastructure, including IBM Mainframe, Linux, Unix, and Windows environments.

This position is responsible for monitoring system alerts, responding to incidents, and coordinating with internal support teams to ensure the reliability and availability of critical enterprise systems and customer-facing applications.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Response (60%)

• Monitor enterprise infrastructure systems and event management platforms for alerts and system issues.
• Provide initial response to alerts and system failures affecting the data center infrastructure.
• Create and manage incident tickets and escalate issues to appropriate support teams.
• Monitor production batch schedules and operational events.
• Document incidents, system events, and resolutions according to incident management procedures.
• Maintain the operational knowledge base with guidelines and procedures for infrastructure management.

Operational Communication (20%)

• Communicate system status, incidents, and updates with internal IT teams and business users.
• Coordinate with system administrators, infrastructure teams, and vendor support to resolve issues.
• Provide detailed shift turnover documentation to ensure operational continuity.

Technical Environment Support (15%)

• Maintain a working understanding of enterprise computing environments including:
• IBM Mainframe
• Linux / Unix systems
• Windows platforms
• Enterprise applications and network infrastructure
• Support operational monitoring of systems, networks, and applications.

Change Management Support (5%)

• Assist with infrastructure updates and changes following established change management processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Some college coursework in Information Technology or equivalent experience
• 1–2 years of systems monitoring and data center experience
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow established procedures and operational guidelines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented technical environment
• Must be able to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

Additional Information

• Position supports mission-critical enterprise systems.
• As designated essential staff, employees are expected to report to work as scheduled even when the organization is closed to non-essential personnel.
