Position Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate-level IT Project Manager with experience delivering infrastructure-focused projects to join our team in Oakland. The Project Manager will lead small-to-medium scale IT infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through deployment and transition to operations. This role requires strong project management expertise, hands-on collaboration, and the ability to proactively follow up, engage stakeholders, and keep projects aligned with scope, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize project templates, job aids, and training materials.
- Lead one or more small-to-medium projects (typically $100K – $2M) with clear scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Define project requirements, roles, responsibilities, and staffing needs.
- Independently plan and schedule project work to meet objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to analysts, schedulers, and project contributors.
- Conduct kick-off meetings and clearly communicate expectations.
- Track, record, and report on issues, risks, changes, and project status using PG&E tools.
- Forecast and manage project costs, resources, and contracts.
- Develop and maintain detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and project schedules.
- Monitor key milestones and resolve schedule or budget issues.
- Coordinate contract/vendor work in line with PG&E policies.
- Conduct site visits/walkdowns as required.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, cost, and quality objectives.
- Close projects with full documentation, storage, and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s/MBA a plus).
- Experience:
- 3+ years managing small-to-medium complexity IT infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure delivery (networking, computing, telecom, security, data centers, voice/data communications).
- Proven expertise in project management methodologies, budgeting, cost control, resource planning, and scheduling.
- Ability to work in a matrixed environment and influence across teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; highly collaborative team player.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with Primavera, PPMC, SAP, and Visio ().
Desired Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
- Agile/Scrum certification a plus.
