Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician

6-month Contract-to-Hire

On-Site in Frederick, Maryland

Position Summary

Brooksource is seeking Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technicians to support one of the world's largest cloud infrastructure environments. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, deploying, and maintaining critical data center infrastructure that powers global cloud services. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in data center operations, structured cabling, hardware installation, or IT infrastructure who enjoy hands-on technical work in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

As part of the Infrastructure Delivery team, you will work alongside network engineers, operations teams, and installation specialists to deploy enterprise hardware, install structured cabling, and support the expansion of large-scale data center operations. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Install, rack, cable, and deploy enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, network equipment, and supporting hardware.
  • Install, terminate, and patch both fiber optic and copper cabling following industry best practices.
  • Perform hardware installations, equipment moves, break-fix activities, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Follow established installation procedures, quality standards, and documentation processes.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, security, and operational standards within the data center.
  • Utilize material handling equipment to safely transport and position equipment.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support infrastructure expansion projects and data center buildouts.
  • Participate in after-hours support and primary responder rotations as needed.
  • Travel between regional data center locations to support installation projects and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Computer hardware repair
  • Data center operations
  • Infrastructure cabling
  • Network deployment
  • IT installation or similar technical field
  • Experience installing or supporting enterprise hardware.
  • Ability to work safely in physically demanding environments.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation for travel between regional data center locations.
  • Willingness to travel or temporarily support alternate facilities based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, CCENT, or similar industry certification.
  • Experience with structured cabling standards and installation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure, copper cabling, optics, transceivers, and cable testing equipment.
  • Experience working within enterprise or hyperscale data center environments.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds independently and participate in team lifts exceeding 40 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, lift, climb, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms.
  • Work in noisy, confined, and elevated environments.
  • Support 24/7 operations, including participation in after-hours and on-call rotations when required.

Travel Requirements

This position supports multiple regional data centers throughout various phases of operation and expansion. Technicians may temporarily train or support established facilities until their assigned location becomes operational.

Candidates must be willing and able to:

  • Travel to or commute between regional data center locations as business needs require.
  • Temporarily work at alternate facilities during training or operational transitions.
  • Travel distances greater than 50 miles or commute to nearby facilities when necessary.
