Summary:

Greenidge LLC operates a 106 MW natural gas-fired boiler and steam-driven turbine, integrated with high-performance cryptocurrency mining operations. We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to support, operate, maintain, and optimize electrical systems and instrumentation for both power and data center facilities. This role is critical in ensuring safe operations, high reliability, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote Operational Excellence & Reliability
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems up to and including 115 kV.
  • Perform repairs on motor control centers, distribution breakers, motors, power and control circuits.
  • Install conduit, wiring, control, and monitoring systems for new and existing equipment.
  • Calibrate transmitters, controllers, monitoring devices, and other instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform mechanical preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment issues through observation and sound diagnostics.
  • Fabricate replacement parts or coordinate repairs with qualified vendors.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of critical and long-lead-time parts; manage purchase orders and follow-up on deliveries.
  • Review, interpret, and update electrical and instrumentation drawings for troubleshooting and installation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a solid understanding of 3-phase electrical systems and related industrial power concepts.
  • 5-10 years of experience in instrumentation, electrical maintenance, or a related industrial field required.
  • Must possess a NYS Driver's License.
  • Must Pass DOT Drug Test and Pre-Screening Physical and position will be subjected to DOT Random Drug Testing.
  • Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a degree from technical/vocational school, military service or equivalent; and/or two to four years related experience and/or training as a power plant operator, a mechanic, millwright or equivalent .

Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of using email and word processing software, spreadsheet software, database software and control system software. This job will require online training modules through E-Safety, a computer-based training program.

  • Extreme noise levels (Due to the noise level in the work environment, hearing protection will be required).
