Associated Fire and Protection, with over 30 years of Fire Suppression expertise, is seeking a skilled Technician to join our growing team. We are building self-contained fire suppression systems which are installed in the United States and across the globe. We are an industry leader within Custom Fire Suppression Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Instrumentation Installation & Wiring:

Install and mount industrial instruments (sensors, transmitters, gauges, valves) on skid-mounted equipment, routing and connecting the necessary tubing and wiring per Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. Perform basic tests or calibrations on installed instruments to ensure they operate correctly (troubleshoot any issues as needed)

* Mechanical Skid Assembly:

Assemble and secure mechanical components on skid platforms according to engineering drawings – this includes fitting structural frames, pumps, piping, and valves. Ensure all connections (tube fittings, bolts, etc.) are tight, aligned, and leak-free, making adjustments for proper fit and alignment as required.

* Testing & Safety Compliance:

Conduct functional checks on the skid unit to verify everything is working properly; fix any assembly or installation problems that arise. Maintain a clean and organized work area and strictly adhere to all safety protocols throughout the process.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, (P&IDs) and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with common hand and power tools for metal fabrication, tubing work, and equipment assembly is required.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and simple electrical wiring.
  • Experience with pipe or tube fitting (such as bending and installing stainless steel instrument tubing) and/or basic welding or brazing skills beneficial.
  • Prior exposure to assembling industrial equipment with electrical components – for example, wiring motors, panels, or sensors on machinery is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic or hydraulic systems beneficial
