We are seeking a hands-on IT Asset Recovery Technician to process used computer and data center equipment recovered from active environments. Equipment is typically functional, though it may be in fair or poor cosmetic condition.
This role focuses on disassembling IT equipment, identifying components by part numbers, researching specifications, classifying condition, maintaining inventory records, and preparing items for resale.
This is not a general warehouse or labor position. Technical knowledge of computer hardware is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely disassemble servers, desktops, laptops, and networking equipment
- Identify components using part numbers, model numbers, and specifications
- Research part descriptions and compatibility using manufacturer websites and online tools
- Classify parts by condition (working pull, tested, untested, as-is)
- Enter accurate inventory data (Excel or inventory systems)
- Label, organize, and prepare parts for resale
- Assist with basic pricing research for online marketplaces
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience working with computer hardware or IT equipment
- Strong knowledge of PC, server, and networking components
- Ability to identify parts by PN / model / specs
- Comfortable using Google, manufacturer resources, and marketplaces for research
- Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory systems)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and methodical
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Background check required
- Bilingual - English & Spanish
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am-5:30pm
- Day shift
