Role Overview

The IT Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure within a complex data center environment. This role requires strong expertise in routing, switching, network security, and modern network architectures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced troubleshooting capabilities and hands-on experience managing high-performance, scalable networks.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and manage enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and wireless technologies
  • Implement and support TCP/IP networking, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, RIP, and MPLS
  • Manage network services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP address management
  • Configure and optimize VLANs, QoS, ACLs, NAT, VPNs, and policy-based routing
  • Monitor and analyze network performance using tools such as NetFlow, SolarWinds, and application monitoring platforms
  • Support and enhance network security through firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, and intrusion prevention systems
  • Perform technical troubleshooting and implement changes within complex network environments
  • Support data center networking, including Leaf-Spine architecture and EVPN-VXLAN deployments
  • Work with network platforms such as Infoblox and BIND for DNS and IP management
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and adhere to operational standards

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and IP routing
  • Hands-on experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS)
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, ACLs, QoS, NAT, and wireless networks (802.11 standards)
  • Solid understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and traffic management
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., NetFlow, SolarWinds)
  • Strong experience with data center networking and modern architectures
  • Familiarity with network security concepts such as firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, and device hardening
  • Experience working in complex enterprise network environments

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with HPE Aruba networking solutions (Mobility Controllers, AirWave, Central, ClearPass)
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper, Arista, HPE Aruba, 3Com, or H3C networking equipment
  • Experience with firewall platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point
  • Knowledge of SDN and SD-WAN technologies
  • Experience with EVPN-VXLAN and Leaf-Spine architecture
  • Familiarity with Juniper QFX5120/5130 switches
  • Experience with structured cabling systems and network facilities
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessments, SIEM tools, and network security best practices
  • Strong documentation and process-oriented mindset
