Disconnect/Reconnect Technician Contract

Location: O'Fallon, MO

About the Role

We’re seeking skilled and reliable Disconnect/Reconnect Technicians to support technology transitions, relocations, and infrastructure refresh projects. This hands-on role involves disconnecting, reconnecting, and testing end-user computer hardware and peripherals while ensuring minimal downtime and professional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely disconnect, transport, and reconnect computer hardware, monitors, peripherals, and cabling.
• Verify network connectivity and workstation functionality after reconnection.
• Label and document all assets and connections accurately.
• Follow company protocols for equipment handling, ESD safety, and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with project leads, IT staff, and end users to ensure smooth transitions.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware or connectivity issues as needed.

Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ Certification
• 1+ year of hands-on experience in IT support, desktop setup, or technical field service.
• Strong understanding of PC hardware, cabling, and basic networking (Ethernet, IP, etc.).
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to ~50 lbs) and work in office/data center environments.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Skills

• Experience with enterprise environments, asset tagging, or IT refresh projects.
• Familiarity with ticketing/documentation systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
• Additional certifications (Network+, Dell/HP hardware) a plus.
