Role: Network Architect Location: Manchester or London \n Contract Type: Fixed Term 12 Months \n Salary: 75k - 95k dependent on experience \n Contact: Callum.Bell@forsythbarnes.com \n\n About the Role \n\n Were seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of a complex enterprise network supporting a , mission-critical digital infrastructure. \n\n Youll work at the intersection of Enterprise IT and Architecture, shaping the future-state network that enables secure connectivity across multiple providers, platforms, and environments. This role involves assessing the current landscape, identifying vulnerabilities, defining separation and integration requirements, and designing a secure, scalable future network to support business transformation and regulatory objectives.

\n\n Youll play a key role in ensuring that our network and associated services are fit for the future, aligned with strategic enterprise goals, and ready for market readiness activities. \n\n Key Responsibilities \n\n Work within Enterprise IT alongside the Enterprise Architect to assess the current network environment, including architecture, vulnerabilities, and separation needs. \n Design and document the future-state enterprise network, ensuring security, scalability, and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

\n Define integration strategies between core platforms (e.g. HR, Finance) and third-party providers. \n Provide technical input into RFPs and procurement for network and IT services.

\n Identify and mitigate single points of failure and network vulnerabilities. \n Support the alignment of network architecture with broader licence renewal and enterprise IT strategies. \n Collaborate with Security, Finance, and HR functions to simplify system interconnections and ensure secure data flows.

\n\n What Were Looking For \n\n Were looking for a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, change-driven environment. You should have: \n\n Essential Experience: \n\n Proven background in Enterprise and Network Architecture across on-premise and cloud (Azure, AWS, hybrid) environments. \n Strong understanding of architecture domains (network, security, application, data) and how they interconnect.

\n Experience in As-Is/To-Be network design, endpoint mapping, and integration design. \n Working knowledge of Zero Trust principles and network risk assessment. \n Proven ability to define technical requirements for RFPs and assess supplier capabilities.

\n Strong stakeholder management and communication skills able to translate complex concepts into actionable designs and clear documentation. \n\n Desirable: \n Experience within large-scale or regulated environments (utilities, telecoms, or critical infrastructure). \n SAFe or ITIL certification.
