Reports To: (Position) Manager – IT

Pay Rate: The expected starting base pay for this role is USD $67,000-$72,000.00 per year. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

SUMMARY

Fujitsu Frontech is seeking an IT & Systems Administrator to join our IT department team. The successful candidates will possess a professional and take-charge style with the motivation to meet and exceed customer expectations.

We are looking for a motivated, accomplished professional to coordinate and work with team members in support, maintenance and security. Responsible for the management, configuration, maintenance, and support of the company’s virtual infrastructure ensuring reliable server backup systems, Storage Management and applying necessary Windows updates and overseeing the network’s health, maintenance, and security. Also responsible for providing end user support with desktop, server, network and telecommunication needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions of the position include, but are not limited to;

  • Supports end users with PC’s, network and telecommunications needs.
  • Provides helpdesk support for laptops to users in Canada and U.S.
  • Manages, Configures, Troubleshoots, and Updates VMware and Hyper-V virtual environments to optimize performance and resource utilization.
  • Implements and maintains Veeam backup solutions, ensuring all critical data is securely backed up and recoverable.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots storage devices and its management.
  • Schedules and applies Windows updates and patches to maintain system security and functionality.
  • Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues, and ensures network security protocols are up to date.
  • Collaborates with IT team members to support network-related projects and initiatives.
  • Provides technical support and guidance on virtualization, backup strategies, and network management.
  • Documents system configurations, updates, and changes in accordance with company policies.
  • Creates and maintains up-to-date network diagrams.
  • Complies with JSOX, CJIS, and ISO.
  • Network environment:
    • LAN – Configures and maintains routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Copiers/Printers/Print Server – Monitors/Maintains availability of printers.
  • Documentation:
    • Network – IP Address and DNS.
    • Maintains hardware and software asset inventory.
    • Service tickets – updates with work performed and closes after user request has been satisfied.
    • Reviews IT documents and procedures and recommends changes as needed.
    • Supports Fujitsu documentation requirements (parent company) as needed.
  • Production Environment:
    • Maintains Production environment systems.
    • Maintains routers and switches.
    • Maintains production images from customer and internal sources.
  • Computer Systems
    • Desktop/Laptops – Deploys, troubleshoots and maintains employee PCs.
    • Lifecycle Management plans.
  • Disaster Recovery (DR):
    • Reviews, recommends, and implements changes to DR processes and documents.
    • Validates DR functionality with regularly scheduled failover testing.
  • Regular work site attendance.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Manager - IT to implement initiatives as required.
  • Works with Manager - IT to move data centers to a cloud-based environment.
  • Adheres to company policies, ISO requirements, safety, and quality.
  • Supports continual improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience with VMware virtualization technologies and Veeam backup solutions.
  • Must have a cursory introduction to ProxMox.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and proficient in managing Windows updates.
  • Familiar with Linux operating system.
  • Strong understanding of network principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, PXE, TFTP and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, Veeam Technical Certification, Microsoft Certified) are a plus.
  • Experience with Android or iOS operating systems.
  • Experience in providing customer service to a variety of skill levels.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply technical information and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Time management and the ability to complete issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or an applicable valid professional IT certification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Experience:

  • Understanding of networking, firewalls, routing and switching.
  • Previous helpdesk experience for end users.
  • Previous Windows server administration required; Linux administration desired.
  • Previous DR experience a plus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Preferred candidate will hold one or more valid professional IT certifications

COMPUTER SKILLS

Demonstrate ability effectively using computers and applicable computer software. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. As well as all related server management software and tools to be proficient at job duties. Experience with ERP systems a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and stand; use phone and headset; use hands, arms, fingers to type; answer phones; write; use calculator; demonstrate strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; demonstrate clear vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

TRAVEL

Must be able and willing to travel (up to 10%) both domestically and internationally. Willing to travel by plane to locations in other states/countries. Valid Passport and Driver’s License is required at all times for this position.
