Journeyman / Industrial Electrician – Data Center Project

  • Moncks Corner / Charleston, SC
  • Up to $34/hr + $100/day attendance bonus
  • 56 hrs/week average | 2–3 Year Project

About the Opportunity

We are hiring experienced Industrial and Journeyman Electricians for a large-scale data center project in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This is a long-term opportunity (2–3 years) with steady overtime, weekly pay, paid , and union fees covered by the contractor.

 

 

Project Details

  • Location: Moncks Corner, SC 29461
  • First Day Reporting:
    • Charleston, SC 29418
  • Project Type:
    • Expansion of existing data center
    • New ground-up construction

 

Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (10 hrs)
  • Friday & Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (8 hrs)
  • Sunday: Optional
  • Average: 56 hours/week
  • With 16+ hours of guaranteed OT

 

Pay Structure (Based on IBEW Electrical Test Score)

Classification Hourly Rate Attendance Bonus

CE3

$28.90/hr

$100/day

CE5 / Journeyman

$34.00/hr

$100/day

 

Important Pay Notes:

  • Must score CE3 or higher to be hired
  • Attendance bonus is taxable, paid weekly (up to $600/week)
  • Bonus resets weekly
  • CE3 electricians average $2,550/week pre-tax (hours + bonus)
  • To qualify for $34/hr, Journeyman candidates must provide 5–7 years of W-2s

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • 7+ years industrial electrical experience (required)
  • 2–3 years data center experience (highly )
  • OSHA 10 or 30 (within last 5 years)
  • Must pass E-Verify, background check, and drug screen
  • Ability to pass a fit-for-duty test

 

IBEW Members (Current or Former):
Please be prepared to provide:

  • IBEW Member #
  • Classification
  • Last active date
  • Confirmation of good standing (no outstanding dues)

 

Assessment Process (Before )

Candidates will report to IBEW (Charleston) to complete:

  1. 80-question electrical assessment (NEC, safety, diagrams, math)
  2. Drug test
  3. Fit-for-duty test (light physical)
  • You receive your score the same day
  • You choose whether to proceed
  • Assessment is unpaid
  • Pay begins at

Bring sufficient funds to cover expenses until first paycheck

 

How to Qualify for $34/hr

Journeyman candidates must:

  1. Visit irs.gov → Get Transcript
  2. Access Wage & Income Transcript
  3. Bring 6–7 years of W-2s to testing
