Corvid Technologies is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, efficient at multi-tasking, and comfortable interacting with various stakeholders to achieve a variety of objectives related to maintenance and operation of Corvid's state-of-the-art Data Center.
This position will execute a variety of tasks to support operations, with a heavy focus on maintaining the required cooling and power systems required for a large HPC facility. Candidate will work closely with the leadership to identify, implement and maintain the required infrastructure needed to ensure availability of the extensive computing resources operated in the facility.
Some examples of typical tasking will include:
- Monitor and maintain environmental control systems for cooling and humidity
- Assist facility manager in monitoring, acknowledging, resolving and/or escalating facility alarms (including some responsibility for responding to after-hours notifications)
- Build out data center cabinets & racks, install servers and other components, wiring & cabling in an efficient manner, including installing custom length ethernet cables
- Maintain an organized and professional facility for efficient operations and professional appearance, including coordinating or executing facility upkeep (including janitorial services)
- Ensure all security policies are followed, including labeling hardware/devices correctly, switching racks to new networks and removing & decommissioning failed devices
- candidate will have the ability (or interest) to support a variety of technical tasks related to Data Center operations, including replacing failed hard drives, updating firmware, and support network administrators with diagnosing problems with infrastructure servers.
Requirements:
- Candidate must be a US and be eligible to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance ( candidate will have an Active Clearance)
- Position requires a strong understanding of facility operations with a focus on Electrical and Climate Control systems operation, maintenance and repair (including liquid-based cooling systems)
- candidate will have experience working in a Data Center or in a similar capacity supporting a large IT operation
- Physical ability to support Data Center operations, including installing computer equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, basic maintenance tasks and ability to be present & standing for long periods of time
- Basic Linux familiarity such as logging in, running network commands, renaming host, and remotely rebooting multiple machines at one time is highly desired (ability to quickly learn is acceptable as well)
- candidate will understand PC hardware, operating systems, networks, and communications protocols - an aptitude and desire to learn will be required
- Candidate must demonstrate a strong attention to detail and ownership over the appearance and function of the facility
