Reporting directly to the Fabrication Foreman we are currently seeking a Lasesr Operator for our 2nd shift to be based at our Centralia, IL facility.

Job Title: Laser Operator

Hours: 3 day weekend every week! This is a second shift position. Work 4 -10 hour shifts per week. M - Th Hours 3:00p - 1:30a.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for setting up, programming and operating the laser machine to produce laser cut panels and parts.

Essential Functions

Laser Operations

1. Program laser jobs in software and on machine.

2. Download files from programming computer to the laser machine to start specific jobs

3. Check machine to ensure it is fully functional prior to starting a laser cutting job

4. Inspect the vacuum lift to ensure proper functionality

5. Adjust offsets on the laser machine to ensure accurate cutting

6. Adjust (minimally) laser alignment and focusing

7. Constantly monitor machine throughout the job to ensure it is completing the job to specifications.

8. Perform first piece and in process inspection by checking dimensions of part per blueprint using calipers and

tape measure to ensure both quality and plan specifications are met

9. Unload processed panels/parts and part skeleton off worktable after processing

10. Perform daily maintenance and minor repairs on machine, observing safety standards, and by notifying

supervisor when major repairs are needed

11. Perform monthly maintenance and log maintenance record.

12. Responsible for quantity and quality of work produced in Laser/Fabrication work area

13. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product

14. Work with press brake operator to help manage cut steel.

15. Work with press brake operator to help part skeletons and organize.

16. Help maintain stock steel and organize material both inside and outside of shop.

Press Brake

1. Work with press brake to help manage cut steel

2. Set up and operate a hydraulic press or punch for routine established work when required

3. Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents

4. Load, install and correctly set up the tools required

5. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications and quality

Tools and Equipment

1 Laser

2. Set up and operate shear and break press, punch press

3. MIG Welder

4. Use overhead crane, forklift, hoists, to assist in fabrication assembly and moving materials/projects

5. Operate, grinders, cutting torch, drills, misc. hand tools

Position Summary: This position is responsible for setting up, programming and operating the laser machine to produce

laser cut panels and parts.

6. Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly

stored at the end of each shift

Other Essential Duties

1. Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work on time

3. Follow and comply with IE safety program. Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times

4. Help Material Handler maintain stock steel & organize material inside and outside of shop

Education/Experience:

High School/GED required plus High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two years CNC laser/Press Brake fabrication experience in shop/manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education related experience. Capable of MIG welding and other various metals based on job requirements.
