Lead Data Center Technician

Job Description

We are hiring a Lead Data Center Power Technician to oversee and support the installation, testing, and maintenance of DC power systems in telecom and commercial environments. This is a hands-on leadership role for a highly experienced technician who can both execute complex field work and guide junior technicians on-site.

You will take ownership of Data Center power installations, battery systems, and rectifiers while serving as a technical lead for field teams—ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to standards. This role is ideal for someone with deep Data Center power expertise who enjoys mentoring others and working in live power environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the installation of DC power plants, battery racks, and rectifier systems
  • Oversee and perform DC cabling runs, terminations, and testing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in live DC power environments
  • Serve as the on-site technical point of contact for projects
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and installers
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards
  • Perform system testing, commissioning, and documentation
  • Work on ladders and elevated platforms as needed
  • Perform outdoor field work when required
  • Travel as needed to support projects
  • Use company-provided tools and equipment

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma required
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience installing and supporting -48V and +24V DC power systems
  • Proven experience with UPS systems and DC battery services
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring technicians in the field,
  • Experience working in ISO / TL 9000 certified environments
  • Comfortable with physical, field-based technical work
  • Ability to lift heavy tools, equipment, and cabling
