CBRE is seeking a Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of critical environments within commercial and retail settings. \n \nKey Responsibilities:\n\nEffectively manage your time and delegate tasks to team members to enhance operational efficiency.\nControl costs related to maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines.\nEnsure all client services, including computer rooms and data networks, meet or exceed required service level agreements (SLAs).\nMaintain and update plans for critical environments to ensure operational integrity.\nImplement change control processes for business-critical areas.\nGenerate technical management reports as needed.\nProvide emergency response standby/call-out support as required.\nOversee utilities management and environmentally sustainable practices.\nAssist in technical audits related to critical environments.\nDrive cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services.\nMaintain accurate and retrievable engineering maintenance documentation.\nCollaborate with the Facilities Management Team to address changes in critical environment requirements.\nPlan and report on Statutory Compliance Maintenance and Testing.\nEnsure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities are executed on schedule.\nRegularly monitor and analyze environmental conditions, including the performance of critical equipment.\nWork closely with the CBRE EHS specialist to ensure compliance with audit requirements.\nUphold CBRE Health & Safety procedures during maintenance activities, utilizing the permit to work system as necessary.\nEscalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager promptly.Qualifications:\n\nRecognized qualifications as an electrician (apprenticeship, HND, C&G).\nEssential: 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations certification.\nPrevious experience in managing data centres or critical environments is desirable.\nFamiliarity with emergency response protocols and utilities monitoring.\nIOSH or equivalent Health & Safety training is .\nStrong contract and supplier management skills.\nExcellent communication and facilitation skills across all levels.\nSelf-motivated, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving.\nConfident decision-maker with the ability to think critically.\nDesirable: Understanding of water hygiene (L8) and experience with BMS Controls/HVAC.\nOperational experience with UPS, Standby Power, and Critical Environment Cooling systems.\nProficient in Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality Systems management.\nStrong PC and MS Office skills.Why CBRE?
