We are now seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team in Nottingham, supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of critical environments and general building services.
The Role
As a Lead Engineer, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day delivery of engineering services, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is completed to the highest standards.
You will:
Allocate and oversee work for the engineering team, ensuring effective use of time and resources
Manage budgets related to maintenance activities and specialist contractors
Protect uptime for business‑critical systems including data rooms, networks, and manufacturing assets
Lead on change control processes and support critical environment audits
Produce technical reports and participate in emergency call-out/standby duties
Monitor environmental conditions and utilities usage to maintain optimal building performance
Ensure all statutory and critical maintenance tasks are completed
Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation
Champion H&S compliance in line with CBRE procedures, permits, and standards
Partner with Facilities Management and EHS teams to support continuous improvement
About You
We're looking for an experienced engineer with a strong background in electrical systems and critical environments.
Essential:
Recognised electrical qualifications (Apprenticeship, HND, City & Guilds)
18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
Strong supplier/contractor management skills
Experience monitoring utilities and environmental conditions
Strong communication skills and confidence in decision-making
PC literate with strong MS Office capabilityDesirable:
Experience working within data centres or critical environments
Knowledge of L8 water hygiene
BMS, HVAC, UPS or standby power exposure
IOSH or equivalent H&S training
