They are seeking an experienced Lifting Appointed Person / Temporary Works Manager to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England.This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will take ownership of all lifting operations and temporary works management across a major phase of the project, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient execution throughout the construction lifecycle.Working closely with project leadership, engineering teams, logistics, subcontractors and specialist suppliers, you will coordinate complex lifting operations, oversee temporary works procedures and ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with statutory legislation, industry standards and project requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the Appointed Person for all lifting operations in accordance with LOLER and BS7121Plan, coordinate and approve routine, complex and critical lifting operations across the projectDevelop, review and authorise lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)Manage all temporary works activities in accordance with BS5975 and company proceduresMaintain the Temporary Works Register and oversee the approval process for all temporary works designsCoordinate Temporary Works Designers, Temporary Works Coordinators and site delivery teamsEnsure all cranes, lifting equipment and accessories are correctly selected, certified and maintainedCoordinate tower crane operations, mobile crane activities and specialist heavy lifting operations across multiple work frontsCarry out inspections and audits to ensure compliance with lifting and temporary works proceduresWork closely with construction, logistics and engineering teams to plan safe and efficient project deliveryIdentify project risks and implement practical engineering solutions to maintain programme performanceLead coordination meetings with subcontractors, lifting specialists and project stakeholdersPromote an industry-leading health and safety culture across all lifting and temporary works activitiesSupport commissioning, logistics planning and project delivery through to final completionRequirementsProven experience as an Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) on major construction projectsStrong experience managing Temporary Works within complex construction environmentsPrevious experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, industrial or major infrastructure projectsComprehensive knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, BS7121 and BS5975Experience coordinating tower cranes, crawler cranes, mobile cranes and specialist heavy lifting operationsStrong understanding of temporary works design coordination, approvals and inspection processesExcellent planning, organisational and stakeholder management skillsCPCS Appointed Person qualification (A61 or equivalent)Temporary Works Coordinator qualification highly desirableEngineering, Construction Management or related technical qualification preferredStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple contractors & disciplinesPackageRotational working pattern available / Accommodation provided for rotational workersWeekly living allowance and travel allowanceCar allowance / Performance bonus / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceRelocation assistance (where applicable)Long-term opportunity on one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developmentsOpportunity to play a key role in delivering a landmark £10bn, 10-year digital infrastructure programmeThis is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant construction projects, working on a development that will redefine digital infrastructure across Europe.
