Job Title: Systems Administrator (Linux)

Location: West Columbia, SC

Shift: 1st Shift

We’re seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator with a strong foundation in Linux environments and server hardware to support infrastructure operations. This role is ideal for someone comfortable working in a data center or lab setting, handling physical servers and networking equipment while also navigating Linux command line functions. The ideal candidate will have experience installing software, configuring systems, and supporting enterprise hardware platforms.

Job Duties:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems using command line interface tools.
  • Rack, stack, and cable servers and hardware within server racks and data center environments.
  • Work with enterprise hardware platforms including servers and networking equipment (e.g., Aruba, Dell, Intel).
  • Download, install, and configure system software, firmware, and updates on servers.
  • Assist with provisioning and programming servers to meet operational and project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across servers and infrastructure components.
  • Support network connectivity and ensure proper communication between systems and devices.
  • Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps to maintain operational consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineering to support system deployments and upgrades.
  • Assist in maintaining system performance, uptime, and security best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent military/IT experience .
  • Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems and basic command line usage required.
  • Familiarity with Linux commands (e.g., file navigation, permissions, package installation).
  • Experience working with physical server hardware, racks, and cabling.
  • Exposure to enterprise hardware brands such as Dell, Intel, or Aruba is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, connectivity, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting or reading command scripts is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software systems.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
