Senior Systems Engineer – Linux/Cloud Infrastructure
Location: Hybrid – San Francisco Bay Area or Scottsdale, AZ

About the Role
\n Our client, a well-established leader in the financial technology and payments space, is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support and maintain their hosting infrastructure and operating systems across on-prem and cloud environments. This is a great opportunity to work on mission-critical systems supporting a large-scale, nationally recognized payments platform.

What You'll Do

\n

    \n
  • Perform systems engineering, installation, configuration, and administration across Linux, Windows, virtualization, storage, data center, and mainframe environments

    • \n

  • Implement systems monitoring to ensure platform availability and optimal performance

    • \n

  • Provide Tier III production support — diagnose complex hardware/software issues and perform root cause analysis

    • \n

  • Implement security patches, upgrades, and lifecycle management changes

    • \n

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures

    • \n

  • Participate in an on-call rotation as part of a team

    • \n

  • Mentor and coach junior systems engineers

    • \n

  • Follow formal change management processes

    • \n

What You'll Need

\n

    \n
  • High school diploma or GED

    • \n

  • 5+ years of Red Hat Linux system administration experience

    • \n

  • Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, etc.)

    • \n

  • Understanding of data-at-rest encryption technologies

    • \n

  • Scripting experience (Bash)

    • \n

  • Experience in a medium-to-large enterprise environment

    • \n

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

    • \n

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    • \n

  • Must be a US or US (no visa sponsorship available)

    • \n

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

    • \n

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

    • \n

  • Additional certifications in Linux, Windows, Virtualization, Storage, Data Center, or Mainframe
