About Bonsai Building Services
Bonsai Building Services, LLC is seeking a Low Voltage Security Lead Technician to lead crews or defined work areas on commercial security and low-voltage projects. Our work includes access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fiber optics, structured cabling, pathways, and integrated security systems in government facilities, data centers, secure sites, and other mission-critical environments. This role is for a technician who can lead by example, plan the work, maintain quality, and help develop the next level of the team.

What We Expect
A Bonsai Lead Technician sets the field standard for safety, quality, productivity, communication, and professionalism. We are looking for someone who can manage the details of the installation while also guiding the people performing the work.

Set the pace and workmanship standard for assigned crews or work areas.
Plan daily tasks, identify material needs, and communicate manpower or schedule concerns early.
Read drawings, device schedules, specifications, and wiring diagrams and translate them into field execution.
Keep crews safe, productive, organized, and professional on active jobsites.
Maintain accurate redlines, documentation, testing records, and material accountability.
Coordinate professionally with supervisors, project managers, general contractors, electricians, and other trades.
Mentor technicians and help build a stronger field team.

Key Responsibilities
Lead installation of low-voltage security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fiber optics, structured cabling, and integrated security systems.
Support layout and planning for pathways, cable routing, device locations, panels, enclosures, and field installation sequencing.
Assign tasks, monitor production, verify progress, and help crews resolve field issues.
Oversee pulling, routing, terminating, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage cabling and devices.
Inspect workmanship, cable management, labeling, terminations, device installation, and documentation for quality.
Manage material tracking, tool accountability, equipment needs, redlines, and daily field communication.
Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, project managers, customer representatives, and other trades.
Support system testing, commissioning, startup, punch-list completion, and closeout documentation.
Enforce safety, quality, security, and jobsite procedures.
Protect confidential and sensitive customer information.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong commercial low-voltage, structured cabling, access control, security systems, fiber optic, or related technology experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead small crews, defined work areas, or field installation tasks.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, device schedules, and installation documents.
Strong knowledge of cable routing, pathways, device installation, terminations, testing, troubleshooting, and field documentation.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and accountability.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to safely use tools, ladders, lifts, and testing equipment.
Must be a U.S. , legally authorized to work in the United States, pass background screening, and obtain secure-site access credentials.

Helpful Qualifications
Experience leading crews on government facilities, data centers, secure sites, or mission-critical projects.
Experience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fiber optics, structured cabling, and integrated security systems.
Experience installing or coordinating EMT, rigid conduit, cable tray, sleeves, J-hooks, and other pathway systems.
Fiber optic termination, testing, labeling, or certification experience.
OSHA 30 certification.
Manufacturer certifications related to access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, or integrated security systems.
Experience training, mentoring, and developing technicians.
