Low Voltage Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including but not limited to security systems, networking, telecommunications, and audio/visual systems. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems, including security alarms, fire alarms, intercoms, and structured cabling.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with low voltage systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to complete installations on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with local and electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to clients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in low voltage systems .
  • Proven experience as a low voltage technician or similar role.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems, including installation and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, OSHA).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
