Manager of Inside Plant (ISP)

The Manager of Inside Plant is responsible for maintaining and managing the Hotwire Technical Center Data Center and Facilities at Headquarters. The HTC data center is a mission-critical facility that operates 24 x 7 x 365 a year. Manages vendor relationships and supervises vendor's electrical and mechanical technicians. Schedules services and repairs of all critical mechanical and environmental equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages preventive maintenance and emergency services on all technical facilities
  • Supervises on-site vendor technicians and subcontractors to ensure all work is performed according to best practice and procedures
  • Manages data center power and cooling capacity. Optimizes plant safety performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with other team managers on Colo installation projects.
  • Creates and execute Method of Procedure (MOPs) for all work on critical facilities and data center equipment.
  • Schedules work activities with vendors and internal technical teams
  • Manages relationships with service vendors and related suppliers.
  • Monitors alerts and operates all control systems
  • Conducts analyses and prepares reports on all aspects of the critical facility operation and maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 10+ years of data center facilities maintenance experience and mission critical facility operations
  • Solid background and understanding of critical electrical, mechanical/HVAC equipment and control systems (UPS, Generators, switchgear, PDUs, CRAG units, Chillers, etc)
  • Experienced supervising technicians to ensure best practices are followed
  • Adept at negotiating with vendors for services to ensure costs stay within market values
  • Knows how to prepare a budget and to present it to management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service oriented and client focus
  • Strong problem analysis and problem resolution skills
