Manufacturing / Design Engineer
Location: Manchester, CT.
Aerospace is at a turning point. Rising costs and strained supply chains are exposing the limits of traditional manufacturing.
We’re partnered with a company building propulsion systems differently, combining modern engineering tools, digital infrastructure, and a production-first mindset to design and scale hardware faster and more efficiently.
They’re looking for a Manufacturing / Design Engineer to operate at the intersection of engineering intent and real-world production, ensuring complex propeller systems are manufacturable, scalable, and built to aerospace standards.
What you’ll do:
- Act as the link between Design Engineering and the shop floor
- Assess designs for manufacturability, including tooling strategy, build sequence, and process readiness
- Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, work instructions, and MBOMs
- Support production readiness and execution to meet schedule targets
- Troubleshoot shop floor issues using root cause and corrective action
- Drive improvements across tooling, processes, and manufacturing flow
- Support MRB and disposition of non-conforming material
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations
What they’re looking for:
- 6+ years in manufacturing engineering within a production environment
- Strong experience supporting shop floor manufacturing in fast-paced settings
- Background in fabrication and assembly processes
- Experience creating work instructions and manufacturing plans
- Strong drawing interpretation skills with GD&T
- Familiarity with CAD tools (CATIA, NX, or similar)
- Comfortable working hands-on with production teams to solve problems
- Lean / continuous improvement mindset
Nice to have:
- Aerospace manufacturing
- Composite fabrication or assembly processes
- MES or digital manufacturing systems
