Core Function
The Quality Inspector ensures all products meet established quality standards and customer specifications by performing precise start-up, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with the Quality Plan. This role requires a highly qualified individual with strong experience in dimensional measurement, blueprint and part drawing interpretation, and the use of precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). The inspector verifies conformance to specifications, identifies and documents nonconformances, and communicates findings to production and quality teams to support corrective actions, ensuring product integrity and consistent adherence to quality requirements throughout the manufacturing process..
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs thorough start-up, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), customer specifications, and approved procedures.

Conducts precise dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify product conformance to drawings and tolerances.

Performs inspection of first articles, sample runs, and process/tooling modifications, ensuring accurate documentation and timely feedback to production.

Conducts capability studies and other analytical assessments to evaluate process stability; clearly communicates findings and improvement recommendations.

Interprets part drawings, GD&T symbols, and customer requirements to ensure full understanding of product expectations and critical characteristics.

Regularly reviews inspection instructions and control plans to ensure inspection accuracy and relevance.

Verifies that product labeling and packaging meet all quality and customer requirements before release.

Accurately documents inspection results, nonconformances (NCMRs, VRRs, RMAs), and ensures proper quarantine of nonconforming materials; promptly notifies the Production Supervisor and Quality Manager.

Records inspection data and reports in WIN-CONTROL and other approved systems with accuracy and completeness.

Monitors Statistical Process Control (SPC) trends, identifies out-of-control conditions, and initiates appropriate corrective or containment actions.

Effectively communicates inspection results, quality issues, and relevant shift information to the oncoming inspector and production leadership.

Maintains all inspection equipment in proper working condition, promptly reporting calibration needs, damage, or accuracy concerns.

Assists in training new operators and inspectors to ensure consistent application of inspection standards and quality practices.

Demonstrates leadership, self-motivation, and a high level of attention to detail while promoting a culture of quality and safety throughout the facility.

Adheres to all company safety procedures, policies, and quality standards in every aspect of work.

Provides proactive support to the Quality Manager through accurate reporting, effective communication, and collaboration on quality improvement initiatives.

Actively supports and enforces the company’s Quality Policy, Objectives, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or functional managers.

Training Requirements
ISO Quality Procedures (ISO9001 / AS9100 / ISO13485)
Skills
Basic computer and math skills to measure specifications.
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma. Experience can be substituted for education.
Experience
3 to 5 years of working as a QC Inspector in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than sedentary work and worker sits most of the time, the job is light work.
Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and or operation or machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes.
Work Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change.
The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause a worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
