This is an outstanding opportunity to manage high-value Data Centre projects across Europe with the benefit of a Birmingham base and minimal travel, requiring only one site visit per month.

This role requires a commercially astute professional to manage the full financial and contractual lifecycle of complex Mechanical and Electrical packages, ensuring profitability and compliance across international projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Control: Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and prepare detailed Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) for complex M&E and Building Services packages.
  • Contract Administration: Administer construction subcontracts (often using international forms like FIDIC or local European contracts), ensuring strict contractual compliance.
  • Valuations & Payments: Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations and manage the payment process for the supply chain, often dealing with international payment cycles.
  • Change Control: Proactively measure, value, and negotiate variations and claims specific to M&E scope changes and technical requirements on data centre projects.
  • Procurement: Oversee procurement activities for specialist M&E equipment and subcontractors, managing tender analysis and contract finalization.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with technical specifications, international logistics, and installation across European sites.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a UK or European M&E/Building Services Contractor environment.
  • Sector Expertise: Direct commercial experience with Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, or highly technical M&E projects is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility & Travel: The ability to be Birmingham-based while managing European projects and committing to approximately one site visit per month.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a focus on project profitability and meticulous cost control.
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.

What Our Client Offers

  • A competitive salary of up to £80,000, commensurate with experience.
  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge Data Centre projects across Europe while maintaining a Birmingham base.
  • A role designed for an excellent work-life balance, requiring only minimal international travel (one visit per month).
  • A key position within a major specialist contractor with a strong global pipeline.
