Applications from ex-military candidates are strongly encouraged.\n\n This is an exciting opportunity to join a 24/7 shift-based engineering team delivering high-quality, business-critical maintenance services within a live data centre environment.\n\n The Role As a Critical M&E Shift Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all critical systems on site. You will deliver planned preventative maintenance, respond swiftly to faults, and support the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.\n\nPlease note: You must be eligible to pass DBS clearance.\n\nPackage & Benefits\n£59,000 basic salary\n£4,000 shift allowance\n10% annual performance bonus\nAnnual leave plus bank holidays\nCompany pension\nTailored professional training and development\nClear progression opportunities\nRewards & Recognition programmes\nStable, long-term contract with strong career prospectsKey Responsibilities\nCarry out planned preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis\nMaintenance on UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, LV/HV switchgear, Transformers, Generators and backup power systems and Power Distribution Units (PDUs)\nUse BMS (Building Management System) and DCIM tools to monitor:\n\nPower loads\nVoltage/current readings\nTemperature impacts on electrical equipment\nSupervise and support specialist subcontractors during planned and reactive works\nEnsure all work complies with site procedures and approved RAMS\nComplete work orders within designated maintenance windows\nConduct routine environmental checks (temperature, humidity, and space conditions)\nLog and manage issues through the helpdesk system, ensuring SLA compliance\nReview subcontractor competencies prior to issuing permits to work\nEscalate any issues affecting site availability, safety, or security\nMaintain full compliance with Health & Safety standardsRequirements\nTrade qualified with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in building services\nCity & Guilds Level 3 Electrical qualification\nHVAP Certification\nStrong knowledge of building services systems\nExperience within hard and soft services facilities management (minimum 5 years )\nExcellent client-facing and communication skills\nExperience in critical environments is advantageous
