Position Overview
In business for over 50 years, Blackmon Service, Inc. and its subsidiaries serve both Carolinas as a full-service, 24/7 Mechanical and Electrical Contractor specializing in mission critical environments. We provide Preventative Maintenance and 24/7 Emergency Service for all major vendors of mission critical HVAC systems. We also offer and self-perform the following: Mechanical Installation & Piping, Electrical Installation & Wiring, Data Center work and many Power Services.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager for our Mechanical Division to support our current Project Manager and customers. This is a full-time position with benefits. Although generally in-person, a remote option for a candidate that lives in NC but not in Charlotte may be considered.
Job Functions
- Perform customer site visits to establish existing mechanical infrastructure
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to complete project estimates
- Generate customer proposals
- Follow up on proposals and provide updates to management
- Manage projects including procurement, manpower scheduling and customer updates.
- Represent the company at some tradeshows and events
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers
- Help Generate MOPs (Methods of Procedure) and other critical environment requirements
- Some travel to neighboring states is required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Technical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- General familiarity with Microsoft Office
- General knowledge of mechanical components and systems is required
- Some experience working in an office is but not required
- Estimating and construction management experience is but not required
