At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Manager for a site in Surrey which is a multi-million New Build Fit-Out Hospital Project
Healthcare project experience is advantageous but not essential.

THE ROLE
What We're Looking For
We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead and coordinate mechanical installation works on a major construction project. You’ll bring strong technical expertise, effective leadership on site, and the ability to drive productivity, quality, and compliance.
Your day to day will include:
The Mechanical Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery and installation of all mechanical services on site, from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
The role is essential in ensuring that installation works meet programme, safety, quality, and client expectations.
As a senior site representative, the Mechanical Construction Manager is expected to demonstrate and promote the company’s core values of integrity, dependability, safety, pride, and quality in all daily operations.
Key Requirements
- Strong background in mechanical building services installation, testing, and commissioning
- Experience coordinating MEP activities and resolving site‑based technical issues
- Solid understanding of construction HSE requirements, RAMS, permits, and site compliance
- Ability to manage direct labour, specialist subcontractors, and trade interfaces
- Competent at reading technical drawings, specifications, and installation standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, especially with site teams, clients, and design consultants
- SSSTS/SMSTS, C&G or NVQ in a relevant field.
- Healthcare project experience is advantageous but not essential.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the transition from pre‑construction into site delivery
- Working with the Project Manager / Project Director to ensure labour and subcontractor resources are aligned with programme
- Reviewing IFC drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to validate the buildability of the mechanical scope
- Supporting the development of project documentation such as programmes, look‑aheads, logistics plans, and procurement schedules
- Leading site‑based safety practices, toolbox talks, and ensuring compliance with all HSE procedures
- Overseeing the installation of mechanical services, ensuring quality standards and correct sequencing with other trades
- Coordinating daily activities, supervising subcontractors, and tracking progress against programme milestones
- Ensuring all mechanical systems are prepared for testing, commissioning, and handover
